About

Welcome to The Board Game Blog!

It’s my hope that this web site will have a little bit of something for everybody, whether you’re a long-time gamer, or someone who has just played their first game of Settlers of Catan, and is wondering what else is out there.  (I know that was my “gateway game”, as it was for many others!)

This is a place to find all kinds of information about board games, including:

  • Reviews
  • Strategy
  • Gaming news
  • Articles about gaming culture
  • Whatever else I think of to post that’s board game-related!

One other thing you’ll note is that while I write about board games in general, there is often a focus on two-player games — either games designed for just two people, or games that work well with two people.  The reason for this is that I am lucky enough to be married to someone who enjoys board games as much as I do, so most of the time that I’m playing games, it’s with her.  However, with the resources that are out there currently, it’s often hard to tell which games are going to be particularly good for two people.  Some games say they work for two, but really only shine when played with three or more.  To fill this void, I’ll be adding notes to all my reviews regarding how well a game scales to work with two people.

But even if you’re not particularly interested in two-player games, don’t worry… there will be plenty of content here for everybody!  And as with any good blog, feel free to leave comments, or e-mail me with any suggestions for the site at ben@theboardgameblog.com.  I’m pretty new at this, so any feedback it always welcome!

So having said all that, enjoy the blog!  I look forward to seeing you back often 🙂
